Baseline snapshot
Current metadata, indexed terms, competitors, creative sequence, locales, and conversion signals are captured before edits.
Why it matters: Later movement can be compared with a known starting point.
Google Play ASO from $149/month for keyword research, title and description optimization, and ranking reports. Growth adds visual assets, Store Listing Experiments, and two listing languages. We separate search visibility from install conversion so each change has a clear purpose and measurement plan.
Engagement guardrails
The project brief keeps ownership, scope, handover, and timing explicit before work begins.

This service is designed for
The selected tier and written proposal determine which deliverables are included
Category-specific keyword research with intent grouping, competitor gaps, ranking realism, and a clear primary query map for Google Play.
Strategic metadata rewrites for title, short description, and full description without awkward keyword stuffing or policy-risky claims.
Icon, screenshot, and feature graphic direction focused on install decisions: what the app does, why it matters, and what proof users see first.
Market-by-market keyword and message adaptation so translated listings do not lose search intent or conversion clarity.
Google Play Store Listing Experiments for icons, screenshots, descriptions, and short descriptions with one clean hypothesis per test.
Readable reports on keyword movement, conversion rate, experiment outcomes, and exactly what should change next.
Written deliverables, third-party costs, exclusions, and remedies before payment
Starter covers metadata work and reporting; visual asset design, experiments, and two-language localization start with Growth. Two experiments per month describes the work planned, not two guaranteed winners: traffic and the selected confidence settings determine when a test can support a decision. App count, locales, assets, and publishing access are confirmed before work begins.
Single app, core optimization
Full ASO + visuals + localization
Multiple apps, dedicated ASO manager
From scoped intake to delivery
We analyze your current listing, keyword rankings, competitors, and identify the biggest opportunities for growth.
We build a keyword strategy, optimize your listing metadata, and plan visual asset improvements.
Apply the agreed listing changes and track keyword positions and listing metrics. Store Listing Experiments are included from Growth; Starter reports are observational.
Compare results with the baseline for the same market and traffic source. Keep, revise, or continue the test according to the evidence.
A Google Play listing has two jobs. First, it must be indexed for the searches your app can realistically win. Second, it must convince the right user to install after they land on the listing. We optimize both sides together, because keyword gains without conversion usually create noisy traffic, not growth.
Direct answer
A Google Play ASO service should deliver keyword research, metadata optimization, screenshot and icon recommendations, localization guidance, Store Listing Experiments, and performance reporting. Each change should support app discovery or the install decision; adding keywords to the description alone is not an ASO program.
Primary, secondary, and long-tail Google Play queries grouped by intent, category, and realistic ranking opportunity.
Title, short description, and full description rebuilt around discoverability, conversion, and policy-safe language.
Screenshot captions, feature graphic notes, and icon recommendations focused on install decisions, not decoration.
Store Listing Experiments for the elements most likely to move conversion rate: icon, screenshots, short description, and message hierarchy.
Good ASO is diagnostic. We first separate search visibility problems from conversion problems, then decide which element deserves the next change.
For a Store Listing Experiment, record the original asset, variant, locale and metric, then use the sample and confidence settings to judge the result. A Starter metadata report compares observation windows without a control group. Record other app changes and seasonality; a before-and-after difference alone does not prove what caused it.
Measure keyword movement and listing conversion by country
Refresh metadata around winners, not random keyword stuffing
Plan one focused experiment instead of changing every asset at once
Document what changed, what moved, and what should be tested next
June–August 2026 · Android shared shopping-list app · US / English · Starter ASO scope
Play Store Solutions audited the listing, mapped keywords and revised the title, short description and full description. The client applied one metadata batch on July 8. We did not change visual assets or localization, or run a Store Listing Experiment.
The August 6 report compares June 2–29 with July 9–August 5 for the US organic search/browse segment. Listing metrics came from client-supplied Play Console text copies; keyword positions came from the team's manual weekly checks.
| Metric | Before | After |
|---|---|---|
| Listing visitors | 8,900 | 9,400 |
| Installs from the listing | 2,350 | 2,730 |
| Listing conversion rate | 26.4% | 29.0% |
Observed conversion change: +2.6 percentage points.
The recorded positions moved from 42 to 14 for "shared grocery list" and from 38 to 17 for "family shopping list".
"shopping list share" moved from 50 to 44. The report judged that movement insufficient and chose revise: rework its use in the full description next month. That was a planned action, not a completed change. The decision for the current metadata batch was keep.
There was no control group. Summer seasonality, the client's July 20 version 1.5 onboarding update, and possible Play search changes could have affected the comparison. The client reported no paid campaigns; we did not independently verify that statement. Neither the metric changes nor the keyword movements establish that our metadata work caused the result.
This client and app are separate from our other case studies and the closed-testing testimonial. Records are anonymized; client statements are explicitly attributed, not independently authenticated platform records.
ASO work should match the decision you need to make and the data you can measure.
| Option | Best for | Ownership | Delivery | Trade-off |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| One-time audit | Finding the largest listing and intent gaps | Your team implements recommendations | Baseline, keyword map, conversion issues, prioritized actions | No learning loop unless changes are measured later |
| Listing optimization | A page needing rewritten metadata and asset direction | Client approves claims and creative | Title, descriptions, screenshot brief, localization priorities | Store results still depend on product quality and traffic mix |
| Ongoing experimentation | Apps with enough traffic for controlled tests | Shared backlog and decision log | Hypotheses, variants, measurement windows, next test | Requires stable analytics and sufficient sample size |
The evidence chain separates observed data, editorial judgment, and future hypotheses.
Current metadata, indexed terms, competitors, creative sequence, locales, and conversion signals are captured before edits.
Why it matters: Later movement can be compared with a known starting point.
Each change names the target intent, expected effect, constraint, and measurement window.
Why it matters: The team knows why a field changed and when to evaluate it.
Accepted copy, asset briefs, rejected variants, and next-test criteria are delivered together.
Why it matters: ASO remains an operating process instead of an untraceable rewrite.
A practical store-listing program for teams that need research, implementation, and a measurable next test.
Our Google Play app store optimization service covers category research, competitor review, keyword mapping, metadata decisions, and implementation priorities for the full listing.
The keyword map drives our Google Play metadata optimization service: app-title, short-description, and full-description rewrites that remain readable, specific, and policy-safe.
Screenshot order, captions, icon direction, localization, and Store Listing Experiments are planned around the decisions users make before installing.
